Interests
Books
Opening a book is like starting a conversation with “an old friend”. The words within the pages speak to me, sharing insights, knowledge, and stories that engage my mind and spark my imagination.
Plants
I believe that just one plant per workspace can provide a very large lift to staff spirits, and so promote wellbeing and performance. “Zamiifolia” which is my favourite with its wide, attractive, dark green leaves, boasts many favorable traits for offices and homes and accepts low-light conditions. Its waxy, smooth leaves reflect sunlight and brighten rooms.
Animals
I am an animal lover, especially “dogs” which are my most favourite animals. It’s such a wonderful privilege to experience that connection between yourself and another creature. So much communication, yet no words needed. I would say it’s a relationship that’s on spiritual level and if I could bottle the feeling and sprinkle it around, the world would be a much better place.
Bicycle
Cycling boosts your mood in the same way all physical exercise makes you happy “by influencing the release and uptake of chemicals in your brain that make you feel good”. Cycling is different. While solo rides are great, our best times on the bike often involve group rides with friends. Plus cycling is great for networking in ways that few other sports are.
Board Game
Playing board games is great for reducing stress and makes for laughter. A side effect of board game playing is laughter. It is one of the vital ingredients for an enjoyable learning experience and increasing creativity. Also, laughing and having a good time in general helps to decrease stress.
